HOW TO DELETE A CRAIGSLIST POSTING

THIS ARTICLE EXPLAINS HOW TO DELETE AN ACTIVE CRAIGSLIST POSTING FROM WITHIN THE EBIZAUTOS PLATFORM. USE THIS WHEN YOU NEED TO REMOVE A VEHICLE LISTING FROM CRAIGSLIST — FOR EXAMPLE, WHEN A VEHICLE HAS SOLD, THE LISTING CONTAINS INCORRECT INFORMATION, OR YOU SIMPLY NO LONGER WANT IT ADVERTISED.

Before You Begin

  • You must be logged in to your eBizAutos account at https://apps.ebizautos.com
  • You must have access to the Craigslist module for your dealership
  • Deleting a post removes the active listing from Craigslist, but does not remove the vehicle from your inventory

Steps

1. Navigate to Craigslist Posts

In the left sidebar, click Craigslist to expand the menu, then click Posts.

You will land on the Craigslist Posts page, which displays all active postings for your dealership along with a count of total posts in the page header (for example: Craigslist Posts - eBizAutos Demo Dealership (2000)).

2. Make Sure the Active Tab Is Selected

At the top of the posts list, confirm the Active tab is selected. Only active postings can be deleted from this view. Inactive (already removed or expired) postings live under the Inactive tab.

3. Find the Posting You Want to Delete

You can locate the posting in any of the following ways:

  • Scroll the list manually
  • Search Stock# or ID — enter the stock number or post ID
  • Search Area — filter by the Craigslist posting area (e.g., las vegas)
  • Post Date From / Post Date To — filter by the date the post was placed

After entering any filters, click Submit to apply them.

4. Open the Manage Menu

In the row for the posting you want to delete, look at the Manage column on the far right. Click the ellipsis icon () to open the action menu.

The menu contains three options:

Option What It Does
View Post Opens the live listing on Craigslist in a new tab
Repost Removes the current post and submits a fresh listing to Craigslist
Delete Post Removes the active posting from Craigslist

5. Click Delete Post

Select Delete Post from the dropdown menu. The posting will be removed from Craigslist and moved from the Active tab to the Inactive tab in eBizAutos.

What Happens After Deletion

  • The listing is removed from Craigslist
  • The post is moved to the Inactive tab in eBizAutos for record-keeping
  • The vehicle remains in your dealership inventory and is still available on your website and any other connected marketing channels
  • If you need the listing back on Craigslist, you can post it again from the Inventory sub-menu under Craigslist

Important Notes

  • Deletion is immediate. Once a post is deleted, you cannot recover it — you would need to create a new post.
  • Craigslist caching: It may take a short time for the listing to fully disappear from Craigslist search results due to their caching.
  • Automated posts: If the Source column shows Automated Tool, the post was created by the eBizAutos automated posting system. Deleting it removes the current post but does not change your automation rules. To stop a vehicle from being auto-posted in the future, update your settings under Craigslist → Dashboard → Automated Campaigns.
